iFest 08, the only way to predict the future is to invent it.
I have the honor to be part of the Advisory Board of the iFest 08. As many of you, I used to attend to many business events and, as many of you, always ended up with the conclusion that it not worth the time neither the money invested (except for the networking contacts, but not always). In a social and information networked and globalized world, the knowledge evolves at speed of light and is more efficient to follow blogs and be part of the blogosphere converastion than attend “regular events”.
But is emerging a different kind of events that could help you to be part “the future” journey. Events with a holistic and transdisciplinar approach of the world of business. Events like TED (USA) or DLD (Germany). And now, iFest, the globalization of the former Renacer that will take place in Barcelona, Spain, the next July 10 and 11th 2008.
iFest is an initiative of Infonomia, the company lead by Alfons Cornella. Alfons and his team have come up with a formula that combines vision, innovation, storytelling, creativity, places, identity and experiences offered by an intelligent sellection of speakers. And all that boosted by a rich interaction between speakers and attendants. As you could read in the website “ideas and energy to solve the issues of the near future”
As an example of the iFest bet for globalization and the powerness of the event proposal: Bruno Giussani, the European director of TED Conferences will be in charge of presenting and directing the whole event.
In 2006 I wrote a post just here about “10 places to go to know about the future“(in spanish). Renacer was one of them. If I now have to pick just five of that 10, iFest would be one of them. Come to iFest, the only way to predict the future is to invent it.
