La generación internet: ¿hacia un mundo mejor?
Parece que las cosas siguen poniéndose en su lugar si hablamos del papel de motor del cambio social que significa Internet. Ahora a escala internacional:
-77% of today’s online youth would rather live without television than live without the Internet.-China has the most devoted young Internet users: 87% choose the internet over television (13%).
-In the USA (the number one TV country in the world): 77% choose the Internet (23% for TV).
In contrast to the TV atmosphere (stressing the importance of beauty, of one’s own interests) young people are developing a new agenda, much correlated, I believe, to the internet dominance.
Youth responses confirm to this notion of (what I call) The Internet Agenda:
1. Brains over looks: when asked to choose whether they want to be smarter or better looking, 69% of the world’s N-Geners choose being smarter.
2. Global over local: 56% of the world’s online youth would prefer to make the world a better place than to improve their local community.
3. Trust as a value: About three-quarters of all respondents said that if a firm made untrue promises in its advertising, they would tell their friends not to buy from that company.
It does look like as we are heading toward a better world!
